![]() This is somewhat of a new problem for Feral Druids, our AOE talent options are very potent but are weaker than some of our strongest single target options. Raid builds and AOE builds are all very tidy and neat however sometimes you're doing a boss that requires a bit of a compromise, a fight that's primarily single target but has periods of AOE, a fight like Soulrender Dormazain to use a recent example. Any build pathing to convoke will have to take it due to it's location, in this build if you are sure you want it then you can instead path through Frantic Momentum to key talents like Soul of the Forest and Circle of Life and Death. Survival Instincts is marked in this tree in blue, some people may consider this a mandatory option and that is entirely fair, fortunately it's in a central enough location that you can pretty much always access it the question is just how willing you are to spend the extra point on it. Talents like Omen of Clarity, Berserk are strong enough in their sections that you'll pretty much never swap them out. Talents that are marked in purple are talents that are good enough that they're usually better than their alternatives but if you particularly dislike them you can swap them out for one of the alternatives which are marked in yellow. I've annotated the tree as clearly as possible here, Talents that are green are talents that you should basically never skip, they're strong enough that pretty much every build should always have them. Pathing Talents - These talents are taken solely for pathing to save points.Alternate Talents - These talents are not taken in the build but could be picked up in place of another.Good Talents - These talents are taken in the build but could be dropped for another talent.Required Talents - these talents are strong enough that there's not really another choice. This is a pretty standard raiding build, it largely focuses on maximising your single target however one of the huge advantages of the new talent trees for feral is that it's very easy to adapt a build from being almost exclusively single target to being a solid AOE build by swapping a few points. I wasn't particularly happy about these changes however thankfully in 10.1 with some buffs to Bloodtalons it is back on top in many situations, along with somewhat more interesting berserk gameplay! Lion's Strength is not SIGNIFICANTLY far behind so if you particularly do not like Bloodtalons gameplay feel free to continue playing it. In 10.0.5 the changes shifting damage out of Rip into Ferocious Bite somewhat as well as the reduction in cost of Ferocious Bite increased the opportunity cost of using inefficient generator's in incarnation and for a while Lion's Strength pulled ahead of Bloodtalons in a majority of situations while also being significantly easier to play. Incarnation: Avatar of Ashamane vs Convoke the Spirits is somewhat divided by gear, however in practice I also think there's somewhat of a division by fight types and timings here, Incarnation: Avatar of Ashamane has the advantage of only dealing damage to the target's you choose to do damage to so in a situation whereby there is frequent mobs that you do not want to damage it's significantly more convenient, while Convoke the Spirits fits far more damage into a much shorter time frame. Incarnation: Avatar of Ashamane vs Convoke the Spirits I enjoy walks on the beach and this is really what makes me reliable on the subject of Ferals! I do not own a cat :( but do appreciate them. I'm enormously enthusiast about the spec and you can find me talking about Feral (passionately) in a few different places, Twitter, my stream, and of course the Dreamgrove Discord! I've been an active and enthusiastic member of the feral druid community since discord heralded a new era of engagement among spec communities, I'm fairly well respected as a source of information and back that up with a long record of high end feral performance, I've claimed multiple rank 1's across different fights in different raid tiers, I've obtained Gladiator in the past (legion season 1), and now have a long history of providing information and help about about Feral Druid. I've played Feral Druid since Wrath of the Lich King when I first picked it up as a main spec, since then I've engaged in almost all aspects of the game, from RBGs, to Challenge Modes, to Arena's, and of course to fairly high end raiding (around world 100 at the moment). My name is Guiltyas, I'm currently raiding in Pure-Turalyon, where I joined towards the end of BFA.
